The Root of Color is an intimate portrait of Frane Radak, the oldest living Croatian painter, filmed in an olive grove on the island of Brač. In that singular setting Frane paints on canvas, sharing his thoughts on abstraction, time, space and a life given to art. Through the rhythm of light, colour and the textures of nature, the film draws the viewer into the subtle world of a painter shaping time with his brush, while his voice leads us through his own quiet.
